True Mark samples real U.S. small businesses from Google Places — the same public directory behind Google Maps. These are vetted, operational listings with addresses and contact info, which means less junk and a clearer read on impersonation risk than scraping random domains.
Google Places is the public business directory behind Google Maps. Listings include a business name, address, phone number, hours, and often a website — and Google marks closed or invalid listings as non-operational.
That gives us a vetted sample: real small businesses with contact info, not parked domains or scraped junk. We focus on SMB categories (plumbers, dentists, lawyers, contractors, and similar) and require a company website before a domain enters the live counter.

534 businesses discovered from Google Places and stored in our pipeline so far.
Industry estimates for U.S. Google Business Profile listings; Google does not publish an official total. The U.S. SBA counts roughly 36 million small businesses — not identical, but the same order of magnitude.
The homepage counter shows email-security results for domains we've analyzed — how many are at risk versus protected. That ratio is about checked domains, not the full U.S. market. This page puts the sample size in context against ~40 million U.S. businesses listed on Google.
Discovery runs on a schedule, rotating across metro areas and business types configured in our pipeline. On Google's free API tier we add about 1,000 new businesses per month — each one gets the same SPF, DKIM, and DMARC check you can run on this site.
When the monthly free quota is used up, discovery pauses until next month.
Aggregate stats only — total domains checked, risk breakdowns, and issue counts. We do not publish individual business names or domain names on this site.
Every number in the live panel comes from a real company domain discovered through Google Places.
Queue depth, API quotas, and run history: pipeline status dashboard.
Google Places lists operational businesses with real locations, phone numbers, and often a website. We filter further — SMB-focused categories, active listings only, and a company domain required — so the live panel reflects real small businesses, not parked domains or consumer email addresses.
Industry estimates put U.S. Google Business Profile listings at roughly 39–42 million. Google does not publish an official total. The U.S. SBA counts about 36 million small businesses — a related but not identical number.
